Kidwelly family's dog shot by farmer after killing 4 sheep
A KIDWELLY dad whose pet dog was shot by a farmer after it killed four sheep has said it has left his daughter "heartbroken".
Matthew Hayden Leader, 27, of Parc Pendre, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates' Court and admitted being the owner of a dog worrying livestock, following the incident on July 7.

The court heard Leader, who lives with his partner and two children, was asleep when six-year-old husky Kaiser escaped.
Prosecuting, Gerald Neave said the dog was been found at nearby Brooklands Farm by farmer Eirian Jones.

He said: "Mr Jones received a phone call saying a dog was worrying sheep in fields nearby. He immediately went down with his shotgun.
"There was a husky dog attacking one of his ewes.
"He shot the dog to prevent any further injury or death to the ewe."
He said Mr Jones found four dead sheep before reporting the incident to the police — and taking the dog's body to Kidwelly police station.
The court heard at the same time, Leader went to the station to report Kaiser missing.
Mitigating, Aled Owen told the court: "My client's partner let the dog out the back door and was not aware it was not secured properly.
"The dog had been shot at the scene. There are no further dogs in the family set-up.
"This gentleman was sleeping soundly, having been working for a number of days."
He said Leader was also due to appear before Carmarthen County Court for a bankruptcy hearing this week, adding: "The house has been repossessed."
Magistrates sentenced him to a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £85 towards court costs.
And speaking after the hearing, Mr Leader said the loss of the family dog had been a bitter blow.
"I just want to put it all behind me — I don't feel he should have shot the dog," he said. "He could have come and got me.
"Kaiser was my daughter's dog. She's five. She was heartbroken.
"She came with me to the police station to report him missing and the policeman told me he had been shot. She was breaking her heart."
