KI Sung-Yueng insists Swansea City are good enough to claim a European place this season.

Last Saturday's stunning victory at Arsenal lifted Michael Laudrup's side to seventh in the top flight, just two positions off the Europa League spot currently occupied by West Brom.

Swansea could also qualify for that tournament by winning either the FA or Capital One Cup.

Ki has sampled European club competition before when he played for Celtic in the Champions League.

And the £5.5 million signing believes Swansea are more than capable of booking their own continental campaign.

"If we get a chance, we want to play in Europe," said the South Korean international.

"The Europa League would be a dream for us.

"Why can't it happen?

"If we work very hard, and it's something we're trying to do, we can reach that target.

"Playing in the Champions League was a great experience.

"You experience another type of league and compete with other good players."

Swansea's Arsenal triumph has sent expectation levels soaring.

A team whose only ambition was to avoid the drop are now gazing eagerly up the table.

Swansea are unbeaten in six matches, and their only defeat in ten was a narrow 1-0

“PS. I saw the Cardiff Bay area after it's mega money spruce up... Wow! Took about overdoing it, it reminded me of Shanghai (overcrowded, buildings to close to each other, a muddy shore and an ugly raised by pass in view). Swansea are doing it the right way, with spacious design.”

“Yeah just think, as soon as they get off the train they are greeted with high street and crumbling buildings, a taxi rank and a kebab shop!”

“Just think, if the Swans did qualify for Europe then those travelling fans would have to stay here. That sort of exposure should in the real world quell the unfounded criticism about the low rent, because the city would get brilliant exposure and tourism.
