Key cricket role set to come up for grabs
THE most important administrative role in Pembrokeshire cricket is up for grabs at the annual general meeting of the Pembroke County Club.
It is being held on Wednesday, February 29, in Haverfordwest Cricket Club at 7.30pm
After more than 25 years in office, the current county secretary Bill Marchant is standing down and will retire on this occasion, even if no other names comes forward, as he gave three years' notice of his intention to retire.
The role is no longer as demanding as it was when Mr Marchant first took over, as some of the duties have been delegated.
But it is still one of the key roles in Pembrokeshire cricket circles.
Another household name among Pembrokeshire cricketers, Maurice Cole of Cresselly, will be standing down as county president after serving in office for five years.
Agenda
Nominations for these posts as well as posts on the various committees will be announced when the agenda for this year's annual general meeting is circulated to clubs and members.
Bill Marchant would also like to know if there are any errors, omissions, changes of personnel, telephone numbers or email addresses which need to be included in the 2012 county handbook.
An email amendment would be preferred, addressed to billmarchant@talktalk.net.
