SWANSEA City were today poised to wrap up the signing of Kemy Agustien on a two-year contract.

The Dutch midfielder arrived in Wales last night and will complete his move to the Liberty once he passes a medical.

Agustien's arrival is a welcome boost to Brendan Rodgers, who has wanted the former Birmingham City man since taking him on trial during pre-season.

Agustien impressed on Swansea's tour of Holland with his combination of technical quality and physical power.

But a switch to Swansea was delayed after the 24-year-old damaged knee ligaments in the friendly defeat by ADO Den Haag.

Agustien is now nearing full fitness and, though he may not be available for selection straightaway, he will be a strong addition to Swansea's midfield resources.

A former Holland Under-21 starlet, Agustien has played for Willem II, Roda JC, RKC Waalwijk and AZ Alkmaar as well as the Blues, who he joined on loan in 2008-09.

He had been due to complete a permanent move worth around £2 million to Birmingham until an injury saw him return to his homeland.

Eredivisie side AZ told Agustien he could leave this summer, and the versatile midfield player was recommended to Rodgers by scouts at Chelsea.

Agustien will become Rodgers's second Swansea signing following the arrival of Scott Sinclair from Stamford Bridge last month.

The new Swansea manager is hungry to make further additions having spelt out the need to bring in some extra firepower.

If fit, Agustien would be a handy man to have involved when Swansea go to Leeds this weekend as Darren Pratley serves a one-match suspension.

But with the new man likely to miss out, Andrea Orlandi and Joe Allen look the men most likely to be called into action at Elland Road.

Stephen Dobbie should be fit for the trip to Yorkshire despite picking up a dead leg in the win over Burnley 10 days ago.

Nathan Dyer (foot) and Garry Monk (back) are also expected to feature against newly promoted Leeds despite sitting out training last week.

“Colin, tevez, torres, villa and messi would have struggled to score under Sousa! Yes we need strikers but give the team a chance to prove that with sone decent guidance they are not that bad in front of goal!

    It's only four games in!!!!”

“I fail to understand why we have still not recruited any proven goal scorers. The problem is not new - we suffered from the lack of goal power throughout last season. It should have been a priority during the summer months. I am not blaming Brendan Rodgers but surely someone is at fault because we need a centre forward in the mould of Trevor Ford to score from Scott Sinclair's pin point crosses into the box.”
