Jumbo jet makes emergency landing at Cardiff Airport
CARDIFF Airport has confirmed that a jumbo jet made an emergency landing there this morning.
The aircraft was said to have issued a Mayday alert during its transatlantic flight.

British Airways flight 196 from Houston to Heathrow had developed instrument problems, according to the Wales Air Network.
The Boeing 747 was carrying 140 passengers, and landed safely at 10.43am.

A spokeswoman for Cardiff Airport is reported as saying: "The flight was given full emergency status and all our teams were deployed on the ground."
All emergency services attended the incident.
A spokesman from South Wales Fire and Rescue said: "We attended the incident, but the aircraft landed safely."
