Join forces to promote city
THERE is no doubt the rail line to Swansea had to be electrified and it is excellent news the modernisation will be delivered in the next five years — earlier than anticipated.
However, while the work goes on, on the Great Western Railway Line, all partners in Swansea Bay must come together to make sure the most is made of the opportunity.
There is a lot going on in Swansea, with the new university campus, the Swans in the Premier League and the future City Region status. That is on top of what we already have: two universities, a rich heritage, Mumbles and the Gower peninsula, to name but a few.
So there is no better time for everyone to work together to fight the economic downturn. And it is vital we do so.

“Agree with you Andy, mind you if the region gets City Region status then we may have to remind the Evening Post that they can no longer list such developments as belong to Swansea, or Neath, or Llanelli etc as they will apply to all of the Swansea Bay City Region.
And Jiffy, if we had the cash that Soviet Russia had we could have dealt with the rain like they did but unfortunately it will be something we will just have to deal with. Oddly, Manchester is regarded as having worse weather so we can probably continue to expect better reports on that front lol”

“The new university is actually within the borders of Neath Port Talbot, so perhaps that line should have read "there's a lot going on within the bay region"”
