Jane lifts her way into record book
A LLANELLI mum of three set four new records in her first powerlifting competition this month.
Jane Nash, who is English but has lived in Pwll for five years, is a member of the British Drug Free Powerlifting Association (BDFPA) and Welsh Strength Association (WSA) and competed for the first time this month with the WSA and set four Welsh records in the over-40 category in the 82.5kg class.
Jane is a training partner of Lisa James, who has enjoyed many successes in the world of powerlifting and who was a referee at this event with the BPO.
"I'm looking for sponsorship in the coming months to enable me to put funds towards competing on a national and maybe even international level as I'm a full-time university student and married mum of three girls aged between three and 13," said Jane.

"I would love to encourage powerlifting by women and men in Wales, especially as I'm evidence that age doesn't matter!
"I'm competing again in May, August and December and am hoping to train as a referee with the BDFPA to enable them to run more competitions within the Welsh Division in 2013.
"So far there is only one in December planned but I am in discussions with the division about running a competition in the summer."
