AT Llanddarog's White Hart Inn, customers don't just sip their favourite tipple — they see how it's made, thanks to a new brewery INSIDE the pub's dining room.

The new facility means beer lovers can follow the entire beer making process as they enjoy ones 'made earlier'.

Marcus Coles and brother Cain already run the Coles Family Brewery across from the pub's car park — but have decided to go one step further.

Marcus said: "We have put a brewery into our dining area now so people can try their hand at making beer.

"It was something we were starting to do across the car park at the brewery but we thought, 'why not bring it into the pub itself?'."

Visitors can sign up for workshops and enjoy a full day of brewing action, from the very first steps to casking the beer.

However, Marcus said he was eager to offer industry-recognised courses for those wishing to gain brewing qualifications — and it would be the first in Wales, he said.

His brother Cain, who is the head brewer, had to train in Sunderland some years ago, so Marcus hopes offering a course in Carmarthenshire would spark interest.

"I don't think anywhere in Wales offers courses, they are all done elsewhere, so it would be a first if we can get them started.

"That could then feed into the local economies if more people wanted to establish themselves as brewers in West Wales or across Wales."

He added: "The brewing could be used as a team building day for businesses, we want people to come along and have fun with it.

"At the end of the day they get to sample the sort of beers they have been brewing.

"We hope people will find it interesting and something a little bit different while they enjoy a pint or meal here."

The White Hart is known for the brothers' unique take on beer flavours — from the traditional Cwrw Flasus, to the beetroot flavour and hot chili, its ciders and White Stag lager.
