Injured Swansea City trio miss Europa League trip
Swansea City skipper Ashley Williams heads a list of five players who have not travelled to Romania for tomorrow night's Europa League clash with Petrolul Ploiesti.
Williams (knee), Wilfried Bony (ankle) and Jonjo Shelvey (knee) will all miss the second leg of the European play-off tie, with the Swans leading 5-1 from the first leg.
That trio join Nathan Dyer, who has a hamstring injury, and Neil Taylor on the sidelines.
Taylor is set to be out of action for four to six weeks and will miss Wales’s next two 2014 World Cup qualifiers, in Macedonia on September 6 and against Serbia at Cardiff City Stadium on September 10 after suffering severe bruising to his thigh.
If Michael Laudrup’s side complete the job they will qualify for the Europa League group stage, which guarantees at least another six European matches.
