Image of Swansea soldier in Afghanistan wins top prize for its photographer
AN image taken of a Swansea soldier on foot patrol in Afghanistan has clinched a top prize for its photographer.
Lance Corporal Nathan Williams, from 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh, of Bonymaen, was pictured handing over a pen to an Afghan child riding his bike while he was on patrol in Nad Ali in Helmand Province.

Army photographer Corporal Paul Morrison was awarded a runners-up prize for the picture in the Army Photographic Competition 2012.
Corporal Morrison said he was thrilled to get recognition for the photograph of the soldier, whose brother Fusilier Craig Williams, of the same regiment, was serving alongside him in Afghanistan.
