A LLANELLI choir were the first to perform a new British and Irish Lions battle hymn live.

Lions To A Man, a song to the tune of Men of Harlech, was written by former Swansea solider, Ollie Ward, and performed by Cor Meibion Llanelli at Parc y Scarlets on St David's Day.

The hope is the that the track — from which profits from downloads will be donated to various charities — will be a core feature of the forthcoming Lions tour to Australia.

The song has been given backing by Scarlets, Wales, and British Lions legends Phil Bennett and Delme Thomas, who were present at the recording.
