Huw Jenkins: Michael Laudrup will not walk out on Swansea City like his predecessors did
SWANSEA City are convinced the lure of the Europa League will keep Michael Laudrup at the Liberty - despite seeing his predecessors give up on the club.
Swansea have seen their last three managers - Brendan Rodgers, Paulo Sousa and Roberto Martinez - quit Wales to take jobs elsehwere.
And Huw Jenkins has admitted for the first time that the men who came before Laudrup felt they could not make any more progress with Swansea.
But the Swansea chairman is confident Laudrup the club's current manager does not view it like that - because a European adventure is on the horizon.
"Sometimes people do look for another challenge when they think they have achieved all they can at their current club," he said.
"We have had to cope with that in the past — I think those reasons were important to some of our previous managers."But we are in Europe now and I think that gives us momentum for next season.
"Qualifying for Europe is a massive thing I think in terms of keeping everything together — it gives Michael a new challenge and it's a new challenge for new players."
