Hundreds of museum jobs could be affected by restructure plans
ALMOST 200 museum workers could be affected by a proposed restructure of National Museum Wales.
National Museum Wales runs attractions such as Swansea's National Waterfront Museum and the National Wool Museum in Carmarthenshire.
The organisation is in the process of finding £2.5million in savings over the next three years.
As a result, 35 permanent posts will be cut subject to consultation which started today, Monday, January 21.

National Museum Wales is hoping to avoid compulsory redudancies by offering redeployment, voluntary redundancy and early retirement.
A spokeswoman for the organisation said: "The proposed changes will not affect the day-to-day operations of the seven national museums across Wales.
"National Museum Wales will continue to offer visitors quality experiences at each of its sites, which together attracted over 1.6 million people last year.
"The Museum also remains committed to delivering key projects such as the redevelopment of St Fagans: National History Museum, National Museum of Natural Science and building upon partnership work throughout Wales and beyond.
"National Museum Wales has entered into a 90-day consultation process with its staff and other partners to fully explore all options and proposals."
