Hotel help in Lowri's tilt at title
A LLANELLI hotel has no reservations about backing local beauty Lowri Davies in her attempts to land the Miss Wales title this summer.
Miss Davies, a 21- year-old from Llwynhendy, has already wowed the judges at the final of Miss Carmarthen- shire, where she beat 12 other hopefuls to win the county pageant.
Now the medical student has her sights set on the Miss Wales title when she lines up in the grand final at Cardiff's St David's Hall on Saturday, June 26 in the Vibe model agency-run event.
Angela Saunders, a director at the Llanelli hotel, said: "We gave her financial help and said we would support her in any way we can.
"I met her when she was at the Botanical Gardens supporting a children's charity,'' she continued.
''We got talking and I thought it would be nice to get involved.
"It would be great for Llanelli if she won.
''I think she has a wonderful chance of being crowned Miss Wales, she is a lovely girl in looks and personality.
''We will support her all the way."
A grateful Miss Davies told the Star: "I found it really difficult finding people to sponsor me and if it wasn't for the Stradey Park Hotel I doubt I would have been able to carry on in the competition as I'm quite a poor student.
I'm looking forward to helping Angela with other shows now to say thanks and at the end of the day it's a pleasure because it's all for worthy causes."
