A PRIVATE hospital in Carmarthen is celebrating after patient ratings for quality of care almost hit the 100 per cent mark.

At BMI Werndale Hospital in Bancyfelin patients were asked a series of questions about the care they received, with 99.7 per cent recording it as good, very good or excellent.

Consultants at the hospital and nursing care received an impressive 99.7 per cent rating.

The independently managed survey was carried out by Howard Warwick Associates and involved 367 patients over 2012. The hospital's executive director Caroline Daymond said: "We are proud of our patient care. The survey is an important indicator of how well we achieve this and we monitor the results very closely."
