IT is being reported this afternoon that the hospital nurse caring for the Duchess of Cambridge, who was duped by two DJs pretending to be the Queen and Prince Charles, has been found dead.

Mel Greig and Michael Christian, presenters on Australian radio station 2Day FM, called the King Edward VII Hospital in central London on Tuesday in a prank call after the Duchess had been taken there suffering from severe morning sickness.

London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 9.25am to an address in Weymouth Street. We sent 2 ambulances crews and a duty officer, sadly the patient was dead at the scene."

“Funny the radio station is trying to justify what they did by saying its not illegal and is done thousands of times and will not be sacking them.

The issue here is the high level profile family that they targetted, and the enhanced pressure an innocent would have faced because of that, nurses get enough **** to deal with and its not as if you would question authority if you thought it was the queen and she would have had a reason to ring.

It just sucks. I hope something bad happens to them both and their lives become ruined for it.”

“I don't understand why they felt the need to make the phone call in the 1st place. Whilst no-one could've foreseen this outcome they must've realised she would probably at least have lost her job, instead they have this on their conscience for the rest of their lives. Not to mention the fact that the whole pregnancy, such a special time for parents to be, now has this tragedy attached to it.”

“This poor lady must have been driven to distraction by these cruel and unfeeling yobs. I expect they will reply that they were 'only teasing'. Teasing is what bullies call bullying.

How her family must be feeling I've no idea I only hope they have good friends who can rally round at this very sad time.”

“Probably the saddest story this year. I hope these 2 people are made to pay for the stress that this woman was put through.”

“What would have probably been a telling off in normal circumstances would be a severe reprimand because Royals were involved. This poor nurse must have been upset enough without the media stirring things up more. I hope those Australian DJs are pleased with themselves. This might have got a few cheap laughs but they are responsible for this tragic event.

    RIP.
My thoughts go to the nurses family.”
