    “Meanwhile in other top stories...

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are attending an incident in West Cross. Fire crews from across the region have been activated to assist a cat, apparently stuck on garage roof behind Dick Barton's Chip Shop. Incident Commander F. Sam said "The owner raised the alarm when she realised Melvin was up on the roof. We have had a great response from local crews to assist in the incident. I am in the process of standing down the water tenders that have come from Neath and Morriston. Both the Hydraulic Platform from Llanelli and the Turntable Ladder from Swansea East returned to their bases once a local gentleman gained access to the roof using a step ladder and enticed the cat down using a mackerel. The other 6 units will be dismissed when we have resolved the congestion issues." Spokesperson for Dick Barton's added "It's been a funny luch for us. All the people who usually come have either been snowed in, or can't get to the shop because of the traffic jam. At least the firemen have been in here all morning drinking pop. I've had a few requests for part time work."”
