Hitler claim is just rubbish
RE Gerrard Williams's claims about Adolf Hitler's escape to Argentina (Post, Feb 18). This is untrue as Adolf Hitler shot Eva Braun and then shot himself — this was shown on TV at the time. I suggest Mr Williams reads William L Shirer, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. What is stated in this book is true. Millions of people lost their lives, so why should Mr Williams make a film of so much misery out of such a low person as Adolf Hitler? Shame on you, Mr Williams.

I take it you have not read the book, "Grey Wolf - The Escape of Adolf Hitler?" I have read Shirer.
As with all other Historians he accepts the rubbish written by that Charlatan Hugh Trevor Roper about Hitler's alleged suicide in Berlin.
I was fascinated to note that according to you Hitler's murder of Eva Braun and subsequent suicide were "shown on TV at the time". I would love to see that as in 1945, to my knowledge and that of every other writer about the period, there were no TV cameras in the bunker. Stalin and Eisenhower both said there was no proof of Hitler's death, Stalin going even further and saying he had "escaped to Spain or Argentina."
The skull the Russians have which they have always said was Hitlers has now been proven by DNA analysis to be that of a 40 year-old woman.
If anyone should be ashamed it's people who believe what they think they have seen on TV, even when it doesn't exist, and base their views on poor research and vitriol.
