THE international tour of the Abba musical Mamma Mia! has broken all box office records for its run at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.

Just over a week after tickets went on sale, nearly 65,000 have been sold — the highest number of tickets bought for the West End production in the first week of sales anywhere in the UK.

Mamma Mia! has also proved the fastest-selling show at the Wales Millennium Centre to date.

Commercial theatre manager at the Wales Millennium Centre Richard Perry said: "The demand for tickets has been incredibly strong.

"It reflects the continued support we get from our audiences for the wide variety of shows we stage here, " added Mr Perry.
