Helpers handed cash for clean-up
TWO Swansea volunteer groups have been awarded hundreds of pounds to help transform their communities.
Friends of Coedbach Park in Swansea has been gifted £297.24 from Keep Wales Tidy, which will be ploughed into tools and equipment, including litter pickers, handihoops and a variety of gardening tools.
It will help them to carry on maintaining and cleaning Coedbach Park in Pontarddulais.
They will also keep meeting on a weekly basis for a Chat and Chop, where they combine weeding and cutting overgrown areas with socialising.
Meanwhile, Birchgrove Community Association (Swansea) is planning to use its grant of £295.20 to carry out regular litter picks and clean-ups around the area.
The cash will be invested in tools and equipment in support of its work.
