Help attract more tourists
GERAINT Davies has worked tirelessly for the interests of the people of Swansea both locally and at Westminster, particularly in the field of business and commerce.
Yet Gareth Jones, for the Lib Dems, inexplicably condemns him for having misgivings about the environmental and tourism impact the beach race might inflict.

Many have reservations too!
Mr Jones might do better to attract tourists to the area by reinstating the Gower explorer on Sundays so that visitors are able to visit our beautiful Peninsula.
But persuading his colleagues to do so is a forlorn hope!
In his letter on January 25 he speaks of "silence", yet it is his party supporters who have contributed nothing in the ongoing debate on our membership of the European Union, conducted by readers of the Evening Post.
To be so passionate for the EU but unprepared to defend it when the going gets tough is typical of a party playing to the gallery rather than displaying an iota of courage and principle.
It was ever thus!

“From county hall down to Mumbles, Swansea is a barren land with hardly any enterprise for it's citizens or tourists, other than a walk/bicycle pathway. It may as well be Rossilli beach as far as their concerned. Talk about over crowding, the Marina is an accident waiting to happen with one road, in and out of it. About time this council realised this is a beautiful and should be a vibrant City, which shouldn't conform to specific 9 to 5 council conglomerates.”

“I do like how the title is 'Help attract more toursits' and then goes on to support Geriant Davies who is opposing a major tourist attraction to Swansea beach! He also forgets to mention how Geriant Davies opposed any form of redevelopment to Mumbles Pier and opposed a new hotel which would bring in tens of thousands of new tourists to Swansea!”

“This proposed motor cycle event will take place on Swansea beach in front of the County Hall. Why then is a picture of Rhossilli beach shown in the piece? Too emotive if you sk me.”
