Hellyer closer to Games target
SWANSEA'S Ashleigh Hellyer is a step closer to the Paralympics.
The talented 21-year-old from Three Crosses competes in the F33 shot putt and has achieved the qualifying A standard for the Games in London this summer.

Hellyer, a member of FDSW and the Swansea Harriers, started off the season in May with a bronze medal in the Croatian Open in Zagreb.
He also competed in the Olympic test event in London and this month beat the qualifying distance with a throw of 7.60m, which he managed in Berlin at the German National Championships.

He is now ranked third in Europe and 11th in the world and has two more events, where he hopes to show more improvement to further boost his chances, before the final selection date on July 8.
