Helicopter crash in Central London this morning
TWO people have been killed following a helicopter crash in London this morning.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Vauxhall, nearby to the River Thames, after it smashed into a crane on St George Wharf Tower.
Former Wales captain Gareth Thomas tweeted his concerns. He wrote: "OMG!!! In car on way to skating and just hearing the helicopter has crashed metres from my home!! Hope everyone in the area is ok."
A statement from the Metropolitain Police read: "Two people have been confirmed dead at the scene. We have no further details. Two have been taken to South London Hospital."
Vauxhall Station reamains closed.

“@ Odinhouse
Have you ever lived in Central London?
Tried to get around in a hurry?
Tried to catch up on a flight from another airport?
Being transferred from one airport to another by helicopter isn't that unusual in London. Streets are that congested and other means of transport that unreliable that a helicopter is the best option if you really have to get somewhere on time.
IMO the major issue is the high rise building craze. London's skyline has changed for the worst over the last 10 to 15 years. Including all the building sites and cranes without state of the art warning lights.”
