Heartfelt head shave is way to say thank-you
A MORRISTON woman is planning to shave off her hair in order to raise money for charity.
Charlotte Wadsworth, aged 26, is raising money for the British Heart Foundation because of numerous family members who have been affected by heart disease.
In 2010 Charlotte's father William was rushed into hospital after suffering several heart attacks and had a triple heart bypass.
She said: "Due to my father having a 'v-shaped' valve in his heart, the only way that the surgeons could save his live was to leave him with only half of his heart functioning.
"If my dad did have another heart attack, God forbid he doesn't, that is sadly the end of the road for him and he cannot be saved again."
In addition Charlotte's grandmother, Margaret, died in April this year after a 10-year battle with angina.
She said: "Without the British Heart Foundation charity I would not have my dad here with me today or have had my nanny for over 10 years."
Charlotte is donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which creates wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.
Charlotte will be doing the head shave on October 30 at Donato Pompei Hair Salon in Morriston.
