WITH reference to R R Bullock's letter regarding rotting refuse — one doesn't need a Mensa certificate to work out the detailed procedure and colour bag distribution set out fully in his or her letter. Sandfields residents would confirm the smell of bags. R R Bullock missed my concern of any epidemic being caused by sifting and analysing contents. The council men wear strong, durable gloves — surgical gloves would be the answer. Health is important.

    “From RR Bullock's letter:
'If he or she follows the recycling rules of the local council, there should be no material or items in the black bags that are subject to rotting: anything of that nature (waste food, vegetable peelings, eggshells, even small bones) should be placed in the small, green bins provided free by the council, which are reasonably secure from animals and which are collected every week.'”
