SWANSEA Hawks could make history next month if they successfully defend the Minor Plate title they won last year.

The Hawks, who are also top of the Men's Lacrosse West Division Two South and chasing promotion to Division One, beat Walcountian Blues Thirds 11-2 in their semi-final over the weekend.

The Hawks turned on the style in the third quarter with a flurry of goals. Piper struck another three goals and Chris Webborn added one to the goal tally.

With a 7-1 advantage at the end of the third quarter, the Hawks still poured forward in the final quarter with Matt Davies scoring an eighth with a 20-yard shot.

Some fine team play saw Webborn score another three to conclude the Hawks' scoring, although the Blues did manage a late consolation.

"I thought everyone played some really good team lacrosse," said the Hawks' captain James Padbury.

Hawks: Henry Knight, James Padbury (capt) Aaron Marensi, Craig Begley, Gavin Price, Matt Davies, Matt Ante'o, Islam Fahmid Uddin, Jacques Kenedi, Ben Piper, Chris Webborn.
