Having a dead good time!
IT was like a scene from The Walking Dead in the Amman Valley at the weekend, as budding zombie slayers learned how to survive in a fight against the living dead.
The special Halloween weekend event took place at Cae Garw Farm near Glynhir Golf Club in Llandybie on October 26 and 27, as hoards of people had a dead good time learning how to survive a zombie apocalypse.
The Zombie Survival Weekender, which is run by Dom Spens, has been scaring its overnight guests since it first started two years ago and the weekend's event - The Halloween Special - was their biggest and scariest event to date.
Dom said: "Zombie Survival Weekender (ZSW) is an exciting zombie themed survival training experience focused on team-building, skill sharing and fun.
"We aim to engage customers on a friendly, personal, level by both teaching participants and learning from them."
The horrifying weekend is split into three stages, the first sees guests given the rules and a safety briefing and the second sees the introduction of team challenges, survival kits and survival skills sharing.
But the final stage is where the survival event goes up another terrifying gear, where following a BBQ and party visitors enter into live-action zombie horror role play which takes place at night.
Dom said: "The main goal of ZSW is for every participant to go away having learned something useful, having had a fun, thrilling experience, to have met new people and built long lasting relationships. ZSW is a unique mix of survival training and fully-immersive, non-combat, live-action, horror role play.
"The Zombie Survival Weekender is here."
Those caught by the living dead in the live-action horror role play, will take on a whole new role in the game. Once caught you will be returned to camp to be converted into full zombie make up, only to be unleashed once again into the playing arena as another zombie. This takes the game of survival to a whole new level with the odds of surviving getting less and less as the night goes on - with the ratio of zombies to humans increasing.
Prizes are also given throughout the weekend for the sole survivor, the chief infector and others.
The Zombie Survival Weekender is held in a variety of beautiful and inspiring locations around South Wales, including isolated islands, creepy woodland, sand dunes, castles, mountains.
