Harlem Shake dance craze gets Llanelli up on its feet
SOME internet crazes are forgotten as quickly as they appear, but it seems the Harlem Shake is here to stay — especially in Llanelli.
YouTube is filling up with the videos, which feature groups of people dancing frantically, sometimes using costumes and props, to a high-tempo dance track by American producer Baauer.
Last week we featured the story of Llwynhendy couple Dane and Rachel Griffiths who injected a little craziness into their wedding day by performing two Harlem Shake dances with their enthusiastic guests.
And now others have followed their lead and created shakes of their own.

The Academy theatre group took time out of rehearsals for Jesus Christ Superstar to film their own video.
Eve Dalling-Owen, the choreographer of the Academy, said the group enjoyed going "a bit bonkers".
"It was hilarious as we had to film it a few times," said Eve.
"We were just trying to promote our show and thought about what was in the public eye, and the Harlem Shake is very popular at the moment."
And the patrons of the Mason's Arms, in Thomas Street, also enjoyed being a part of the global craze.
Llanelli Star reporter Chad Welch was one of those taking part in the Mason's Arms dance. "The bar was an absolute sweat box after everyone went mental," Chad said.
"It was a good feeling throughout the night and generally everyone was having a good laugh."
And one Pwll family turned a quiet Sunday night in their living room into a manic dance-off as they filmed their own version, which included a sumo wrestler suit and an inflatable parrot.
Sam Edwards, 24, said: "One of my sisters was back from university and we decided to look at the videos on YouTube.
"Me and my two sisters were going to do one, but then my dad had a look and said 'let's do it'.
"We raided the fancy dress cupboard and got some costumes. It was just a normal Sunday evening for us!"
