Hain calls for investigation into food poverty
NEATH MP Peter Hain (left) has joined a national charity in calling for an official inquiry into food poverty.
With two food banks in his constituency, in Neath and Ystalyfera, Mr Hain said he was deeply concerned about the most vulnerable, following news from the Trussell Trust that use of the charities across the UK has tripled within a year.
He said: "Average household incomes in Neath are low whilst the cost of living, particularly food and fuel prices, continue to rise. The most vulnerable in our communities will be forced to choose between putting food on the table or heating their homes."
