Gym girls thrive in Welsh championships
NEATH-AFAN Gymnastics Centre can boast a host of new Welsh champions. Fourteen girls entered the Welsh Champion- ships, with two becoming Welsh champions, two taking overall silver medals and one an overall bronze medal.
Every Neath-Afan gymnast gained an individual apparatus medal or ribbon, including several golds. Paige Thomas, aged 9 from Cimla, became Welsh Elite Level 4 champion, closely followed by Evie Lawrence, 9, from Baglan, in silver medal position.

Both girls go on to represent Wales at the British Champion- ships in Guildford.
Nine-year-old Ebony Lewis from Seven Sisters took silver in Welsh Regional Challenge Cup and Ffion Thomas, 13, from Skewen performed exceptionally to gain bronze in the WRCC 12-13 age group. Rebecca Brimfield, 13, from Baglan became the Welsh Intermediate 12-13 champion.
