Hafan Cymru provides housing and support services to women, men and their children, particularly those escaping domestic abuse.

Myddfai Trading Company, based in Abermarlais Business Park, has received an offer of £35,640 towards part-funding the salary of a project manager for one year.

The company was incorporated in 2010 as a result of taking part in the BBC and Big Lottery Village SOS Scheme. It has developed a range of products based on the village's history and heritage, in particular the Physicians of Myddfai and Welsh herbal traditions.

Also to receive funding is the Belvedere and Park Hall Shop Development in Carmarthen, which has been given £3,700 towards initial costs to set up.

The grants have been awarded by the Collaborative Communities Targeted Finance Package (TFP), a partnership between the County Voluntary Councils and local authorities in south west Wales. It is part-funded by the EU and managed by the Welsh Government.
