Groom in perfect condition as her effort helps rescue Mansel
THE only maximum score to be recorded in last week's fixtures of the Boars Head Hotel Felinfoel Brewery Carmarthen Mixed League came from a female player.
Chris Groom, who plays out of Mansel, became the third lady to hit a 180 this season. And in doing so, she was also her team's saviour in securing a 6-5 win after they were 3-0 down.

Third-placed Boars Head A recovered from a shaky start to lead 6-2, and again lost their way in the final three games to scrape through to win by the odd point.

Wheatensheaf raced into a 5-0 lead before losing the first and last Singles to earn a comfortable 9-2 win to keep in touch with the leaders.
Also winning 9-2 were Boars Tails. After the first five games they only led by one point, then they went on to win all six Singles.
Bizz A took all 11 points against Castle A, who failed to honour their fixture. Another cancellation from Castle, will incur a one-year suspension for the team and players.
