Grogg-tastic honour for Swansea City footie star Ashley Williams
THEY are usually the preserve of our rugby heroes such as Phil Bennett, George North and Gareth Edwards but such is the success of the Swans you can now purchase a miniature Ashley Williams.
The famous Grogg factory, in Pontypridd, has turned its hand to making mini models of the Swansea and Wales soccer star.
-

Williams joins such football greats as Swansea-born John Charles, George Best, Craig Bellamy and Ryan Giggs who have broken the strangle hold of rugby stars on the art form.
The bad news for Grogg and Ashley fans is such is the demand for the nine-inch figure there is a two-month delay in orders.

The star defender appears to be pleased with the result after posting on his Twitter account: "Shout out to @WorldOfGroggs for doing a great job on my Grogg! Go get it!"
The only down side is fully paid-up members of the Jack Army may be disappointed to find that Williams has been portrayed in the red kit of Wales rather than the white of the Swans.

“Dont get me wrong DJofTNE i'm sure the O's will get 8-9000 this year, their prices are rock bottom this year. although i played rugby like a lot of ex players i don't enjoy watching that much. It always makes me laugh that those who shout the most at rugby games have never played the game in their life.”

“I've been to the Grogg shop in Broadway, Pontypridd a number of times. It's a fascinating place, well worth a visit, and an ideal spot to buy a Xmas or birthday present for someone who is interested in sport.”
