Firefighters have dealt with a series of grass  fires across Swansea and Gower this evening.

The first call was to Jersey Road in Winch Wen just after 6.30pm, when officers from Morriston used beaters to put out a fire on scrub land off Jersey Road.

Then, just after 7pm, officers from the Sketty station tackled a fire in the front garden of a house in Gomer Road, Townhill, following reports of trees alight.

At 7.10pm retained firefighters from Reynoldston were in action on Cefn Bryn common tackling a grass fire — it is understood the area affected was less than one acre.

Then just after 7.30pm firefighters from Swansea Central were called to a small grass fire near the Fabian Way park and ride car park.
