Gowerton and Lampeter in impressive early form
GOWERTON and Lampeter are joint top of division four west after both enjoyed huge wins for the second week in succession.
Last weekend Gowerton ran in 10 tries in their 60-3 home win against Aberaeron, and on Saturday they went three better with 13 touchdowns in an 83-14 victory at Milford Haven.
Full-back Gareth King and scrum-half Bleddyn James led the scoring with four and two tries respectively.
Single scores went to two sets of brothers, fly-half Rob and centre Gareth John, and flanker Ben and hooker Jonny Rees. Centre Gethin Lillicrap, prop Rhys Thomas and wing Liam Hedges. Rob John landed seven conversions and Callum MacKenzie two.
Lampeter, 78-7 winners at Milford Haven last time out, won 76-0 at Laugharne. Something will have to give this Saturday as Lampeter travel to play at Gowerton.
Trimsaran ran in five tries in a regulation 32-6 win at Aberaeron, although it was only 12-3 at the break.
All three members of the back row scored — flankers Jamie Owens and Mike Daniels and No. 8 Dale Evans — plus wings Rhys Nelson and Thomas Bonnell. Fly-half Phil Davies landed two conversions and a penalty.
Furnace United went down at home to Hendy 29-16, while Swansea Uplands also lost at home, 39-12 to joint leaders Penybanc.
Replacement back-rower Jordan Williams and centre James Brannigan touched down for the hosts, with scrum-half Sam Jones adding two conversions and a penalty.
