Gower hotel housing request
PLANS to turn one of Gower's few remaining hotels into 14 houses are back before Swansea councillors today.
The planning committee members are assessing the impact of the North Gower Hotel proposal on the character and appearance of the area and the Gower area of outstanding natural beauty.
The principle of residential redevelopment of the Llanrhidian site has already been established with previous outline consent.
Persimmon Homes West Wales Ltd wants to build 10 detached homes and four semi-detached ones.

Its plans have prompted three letters of objection and one of "comment", raising concerns about drainage and sewerage, highway safety, traffic congestion, and loss of hedgerow and tress, among others.
Recommending approval, planning officers said the scheme was "compatible with the character, appearance and layout of the surrounding area".
