Going green a growing concern
CHILDREN across Llanelli have been working their way towards eco school status.
The pupils have been hard at work outdoors doing all they can to save energy and grow their own. At Swiss Valley School there are 12 raised beds used for growing fruit and vegetables, which are packaged and sold at the school's summer fair and to residents.
Any leftovers are used in the cookery class and for food tasting sessions.
Pupil Alys Thomas said: "We are going to use the money to buy more plants and equipment for the allotment.
"I enjoy planting, digging up and weighing them."
