Goals galore — but is boss facing a defensive headache?
IT rained goals for Swansea City against the minnows of VCS last night — but Angel Rangel's non appearance meant a black cloud for the tourists.
Brendan Rodgers's men triumphed 8-1 in a game they controlled with such ease that they hardly broke sweat.
-

But for all the fun of watching Swansea break the shackles — it is now 13 in tour matches for a side who struggled so badly in front of goal last season — the big talking point of the night was Rangel's absence.
The Spanish defender, rested by Rodgers, is the subject of interest from at least one Premier League club.
And with just eight days to go until the new season starts, Rodgers will be left with a defensive headache if Rangel does say farewell.
Lively
It was one-way traffic from the outset in front of a sparse crowd last night, with Gorka Pintado striking first blood with only six minutes on the clock.
Fed by the lively Nathan Dyer, Pintado steadied himself before smashing the ball low into the bottom of the net.
VCS are a non-league side who operate in the fifth tier of the Dutch game, two levels below VV Haaglandia, who Swansea had beaten 4-1 24 hours earlier.
Rodgers's team could have been six goals to the good by half-time last night, even though the Swansea boss chose to shuffle his pack rather than send out his strongest line-up at any stage.
Cedric van der Gun broke through but saw his shot saved, Pintado poked the rebound narrowly beyond the far post.
Mark Gower, Swansea's first-half skipper, strode forward from central midfield but saw his long-range effort beaten away, and the home keeper saved again to deny Jordi Lopez.
Swansea's second eventually came on 22 minutes, Albert Serran planting a header in at the near post from Gower's left-wing corner.
The game of attack- versus-defence continued, Dyer seeing a drive saved before van der Gun fired the wrong side of the upright.
Pintado showed his mates the way just before the break, dancing around his marker before rolling a shot into the far corner.
There were nine changes at the break as Rodgers switched to 3-4-3, and the second-half team were soon filling their boots against hapless opposition.
This game had only been arranged as a thank you to VCS, whose training facilities Swansea have been using all week.
And this game was like a training exercise as Swansea practised going forward.
Scott Donnelly did his bit, dancing round a defender before finishing with little fuss.
A minute later trialist Kemy Agustien impressed again, curling home the goal of the night from 20 yards.
And just two minutes after that it was 6-0, Darren Pratley turning Donnelly's shot into the net from close range.
Following a batch of substitutions, VCS briefly had 12 men on the pitch — but even then they could not stem the tide.
After Alan Tate, Stephen Dobbie and Shefki Kuqi had all hit the woodwork, Dyer swept home the goal he deserved following a neat one-two on the edge of the box.
Kuqi got in on the act with 14 minutes left, controlling Dobbie's cross on his chest before steering home a volley.
Much to Dorus de Vries's frustration, VCS grabbed a consolation when Aziz Aldogan prodded home from a corner.
But it was fitting that Swansea had the last word as Pratley tapped home his second of the night.

“slumdog trust millionaire, landore - what's your problem? You're always compaining. If you're not happy with the Swans then support someone else. We can do without your constant moans. The match was to help with player fitness, team building, etc. It wasn't some kind of jolly, as you call it. Do you think the team should stop training as well, beacuse only a few fans turn up for that.
Grow up.”

“its time the club organised friendlies with the league kick off in mind instead of jolly boys for the players and officials of the club. nobody was interested in last nights game other than a few die hards so why not play games of more worth?”
