Glamorgan star Jim Allenby receives top award
GLAMORGAN all-rounder Jim Allenby has won the prestigious Wetherell Award from the Cricket Society for being the leading all-rounder in English first-class cricket in 2012.
During last summer, he scored 733 first-class runs at an average of 40.72, besides taking 42 first-class wickets at just 23 runs apiece.
He also posted two centuries in the LV= County Championship, with hundreds against Essex at Colchester and Kent at the Swalec Stadium.
Allenby said: "I am delighted that my efforts with both bat and ball for Glamorgan last summer have been recognised in this way."
