George North's impact at Northampton hailed by team-mates
NORTHAMPTON Saints centre Luther Burrell has hailed the early impact of Wales and Lions wing George North at Franklin’s Gardens.
The former Scarlets star will make his fourth successive league start when Northampton host Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership on Friday night.
And although the North Walian powerhouse has yet to open his try-scoring account for his new side, he has already made his mark — notably against Gloucester last weekend when he beat a clutch of defenders to set up a superb score for fellow wing Jamie Elliott.
“George has been brilliant so far,” said Burrell.
“Coming back in from the Lions he has brought some fresh ideas and has an old head on young shoulders. It is brilliant for the club that he is here.
“As a back line you want players like him next to you, and he has settled in brilliantly. He is always popping up and working hard on his support play and getting around the park.”
