WARREN Gatland saluted George North as "world class" after the teenager helped inspire Wales to a famous Six Nations victory in Dublin yesterday.

North set up one try against Ireland with a run that left defenders scattered in his wake and the rampaging Scarlet also claimed a touchdown himself.

Wales won 23-21 after a last-minute penalty from Leigh Halfpenny.

It was their third victory in a row over Ireland and Gatland hailed his side and North in particular.

"I thought he was world class out there," said the New Zealander.

"A win like this will give us a massive amount of confidence.

"My experience of Welsh teams is that we are always dangerous when our backs are against the wall and when we are playing with belief and confidence.

"We saw that at the World Cup.

"But we also have scope for a lot of improvement."

“A World Class coach makes the comment that in his opinion George North is a World Class player!
    Who are we to argue?”

“Firstly I enjoyed the game like most people but once again we hear the comments "World Class"when referring to George North. We use this term far to loosely in my opinion, surely people only deserve such status when they have consistanly performed heroics over a period of time like Shane Williams for example!”
