It took until midway through the second half for Village to break down a stubborn Bonymaen rearguard. Kai Hopkins was the first to beat the fine Bony keeper with a thunderbolt into the roof of the net. Tobias Jones doubled the score after some lovely build-up play involving James Lawrence, Owen Slater and Jamie Burge.

Village and Mumbles cancelled each other out in an entertaining goalless draw.

But Village snatched the victory they needed to top the group with the last kick of the match against Port Tennant.

It came via a brilliant Owen Slater through ball to Tobias Jones, who beat two defenders before striking the post. But he was quickest to react and his cross was headed home by Kai Hopkins.

But Village's run came to an end in the semi-final when they went down 2-0 to Sandfields Whites.

Late goals in each half were enough to see them through despite a valiant effort from Village keeper Kai Hopkins.

Meanwhile, SA1 Stars defeated a strong Plough outfit, then grabbed a hard-earned draw with Birchgrove before defeat to Garden Village.

Goals were scored by Adam Griffiths (2), Robbie Dyer, Billy Wright, a power header from Dylan Thomas and a late Callum O'Driscoll effort. Curtis Davies had a hand in a couple of them.

Brynawel Juniors Under-8s won 8-0 against St Joseph's Greens.

Billy Thomas scored six goals, with Jac Ace and Keelan Fender also on target.

They went on to beat Treboeth Blues 2-0 courtesy of goals by Billy Thomas and Jac Ace, though the Treboeth keeper had an excellent game.

Sandfields showed good form in Division B of the under-13 league with an 8-0 win over Bishopston.

Tom Lewis opened the scoring for Sandfields after five minutes from a corner by Dominic Smith.

They went further ahead when Kenny Bell was put through by Tom Evans. Keiran Thomas then broke from halfway and outpaced the defence to put Sandfields 3-0 at half-time.

Sandfields rang the changes at the interval and extended their lead after the break with goals from Dominic Giadelli, Cameron Griffin, Ethan Joce, Jake Norman and Oscar Price.

Tom Evans and Dominic Smith were outstanding in midfield, while Rhydian Luckwell organised his defence well.
