Game review: The Darkness 2
SQUEAMISH? Then look away now.
For The Darkness has more than it's fair share of gruesomeness to keep even the most fanatical fan of gory horror movies happy.

The Darkness 2
The story continues from the first outing.
You are Jackie Estacado, now Don of the Franchetti crime family, but while most adventure shooters give you just an arsenal of weapons, Jackie can use a couple of extra demonic arms that protrude from his body to wreak hellish deaths on his victims.
He can also smash up the environment and use it to…yes, inflict painful hellish deaths…you get the picture.
But Jackie also has a soft, sensitive side. As well as coping with the 'monster' inside of him, he is still coming to terms with the loss of his beloved Jenny.
These moments slow the story down occasionally, to make it a little more personal, then all hell is unleashed again with another titanic battle.
There are some graphical issues with bodies sometimes sinking through the floor, and some of the scenes for the gameplay feel a little clichéd, but you will probably be too frantically killing to notice this all the time.
If you're looking for a more considered shooter, then Darkness II delivers on some fronts, but it also has the occasional feel of an arcade game.
If you like both these genres, then get playing and start unleashing painful, hellish deaths, etc, etc.
