TOMORROW is Countryside Day at Trimsaran's Ffos Las racecourse, with visitors gearing up to enjoy an afternoon of National Hunt racing.

Free entertainment will be laid on for families too.

Hawksdrift Falconry will be there to demonstrate the skills of fascinating birds of prey.

Meirion Owen's Quack Pack will lay on duck herding with border collies, The Countryside Alliance will be on the course and a Christmas shop will give you some ideas for early present buying.

Ffos Las Racecourse's general manager Tim Long said: "Our Countryside Festival raceday promises to provide great entertain- ment.

"There will be plenty to do for children aged under 16 who are, as always, offered free admission when accompanied by an adult."

The feature horse race is the £8,000 Stradey Park Handicap Hurdle. The first race is off at 2.20pm and gates open at 12.20pm.

The Borrowers gets an animated outing at Swansea's Taliesin Arts Centre cinema on Monday in Arrietty.

Saoirse Ronan, Tom Holland and Mark Strong provide the voices for this version, which sets Mary Norton's classic in a sprawling mansion in Tokyo.

Tiny 14–year–old Arrietty lives with her equally tiny parents, The Borrowers, beneath the floorboards and, ignoring their warning to never let humans see her, she meets Sho, a young boy who has moved in above. A friendship then blossoms between them. The event starts at 7.30pm.
