A BRITON Ferry woman has told jurors of a text message she received from prostitute Kirsty Grabham shortly before she was allegedly murdered by her husband at their Swansea home.

Paloma Foley had been at a city centre nightclub with Mrs Grabham until 3.15am on March 28.

The 24-year-old call-girl sent Miss Foley a text just before 4am to let her know she had got home safely.

The prosecution case at Swansea Crown Court is that, shortly after sending this text, Mrs Grabham was attacked and killed by 25-year-old Paul Grabham at their top-floor flat in Rosehill Terrace, Mount Pleasant.

Grabham, who denies murder, later allegedly put his wife's body in a suitcase and dumped it on an embankment near the M4. The couple both worked in the sex industry as prostitutes and married in 2008, some seven weeks after meeting at a Bridgend brothel.

Giving evidence on day six of the case, Miss Foley said the first time she met Paul and Kirsty Grabham was when friends introduced her to the couple in a queue outside Play nightclub, off Wind Street, during the late evening of March 27.

Inside the club, she noticed an argument between the couple — and Mrs Grabham later told her the row had been about "cheating".

"After the argument, Paul stormed off and left the club," said Miss Foley.

"Kirsty seemed quite upset — she was annoyed he had left."

But Mrs Grabham, who got quite drunk, later appeared to enjoy herself when she stayed at Play with Miss Foley and their mutual friends, Amy Charles and Lisa Oliver, the court heard.

She and Miss Foley left the club together at 3.15am and got a taxi to Miss Oliver's house in Danygraig Road, Port Tennant, where Miss Foley had arranged to spend the night.

At that address, the two women chatted briefly in the kitchen and, at 3.35am, Miss Foley rang for a taxi so Mrs Grabham could get home to Mount Pleasant.

Miss Foley then wrote her name and phone number on a piece of paper and gave it Mrs Grabham.

"I did this so she could ring me or text me to let me know she had got home safely," she told Greg Taylor QC, prosecuting.

The court heard that just before 4am Miss Foley duly received a text from Mrs Grabham saying: "Hi! It's Kirsty. I'm home. Hubby crashed out on floor. I've got the bed to myself."

Another prosecution witness, who was at Play that night, was Swansea man Richard Woods, had got to know Mrs Grabham after meeting her through mutual friends about two months earlier.

He said she had confided in him on one occasion that there were problems in her marriage and it was "rocky".

Mr Woods told the court that when he met Paul Grabham at Play on March 27, the defendant was aggressive towards him.

"Basically, he was warning me off," said Mr Woods.

"He was saying Kirsty was his wife.

"But after we had a drink together, things were amicable and friendly."

Mr Woods said he gave Grabham an Ecstasy pill at the club, and the defendant took it.

The witness then had a conversation with Mrs Grabham and she asked him to phone her after leaving Play.

Later, he saw the Grabhams shouting at each other in an argument at the club.

Mr Woods told the court that, between 4am and 5am, he made a number of attempts to contact Mrs Grabham.

"But none of the calls got through," he said.

"The phone just kept ringing."
