MORE than 5,000 women are being offered a free, potentially lifesaving screening test, as Breast Test Wales returns to Carmarthen.

The NHS's mobile screening unit will be sited at Morrisons car park until December.

The unit offers free breast screening by invitation only, to women aged 50 and above who are registered with local GP surgeries.

All women between 50 and 70 should automatically receive a postal invitation if they are registered with local GP surgeries.

Women over 70 will not receive an automatic invitation, but can be screened on request by telephoning Breast Test Wales on 01792 459988.
