HOMEOWNERS in Wales are being offered free and confidential advice on how to keep warm this winter.

The Welsh Government has launched a service entitled Nest for people in Wales giving free energy efficiency and money management advice, along with benefit checks and tariff checking.

Those who desperately need help could be entitled to a range of free home improvements including new heating systems, external wall and loft insulation and renewable energy.

The scheme, managed by British Gas, offers support to people who either rent or own their homes, live in a property that is not energy efficient, and have a means tested benefit grant.
