Forensic bin bag evidence
BIN bags found with the body of Kirsty Grabham could have "originated" from the same roll as two other bags later recovered from her flat.
Vikki Rosewell, of the Forensic Science Service, told the jury there "was very strong support" that the bags came from the same batch as those found in a kitchen drawer at the Rosehill Terrace address.
She said on inspecting a number of bags recovered, although some were different, the characteristics of the bags in the drawer and the bags with the body matched. "In my view there was very strong support that the bags found with Mrs Grabham's body came from the roll," said Miss Rosewell. In cross-examination by defence barrister Christopher Clee QC, she said there was no direct fit between the liners found with the body and those in the drawer.
The court also heard that the police officer who first dealt with the missing person inquiry assessed Mrs Grabham as being at "high-risk" — but an inspector then reassessed her as "medium-risk".
