SCHOOLS in Port Talbot may soon be getting a visit from a new community officer.

Port Talbot Town has appointed first-team player Lee John as their Football in the Community Officer.

Mr John, who first joined the club in 2004, will be working with schools from across the area delivering football sessions and literacy support.

Chairman Andrew Edwards said: "We're one of the very first Welsh Premier League clubs to employ a full-time Football in the Community Officer and the response we've had so far has been very positive and encouraging."
