Cable thieves who cut a live power line last night may have sustained injuries, say South Wales Police.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the attempted theft at Brynmenyn sub station in Abergarw Road, Brynmenyn, Bridgend, between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

A police spokesperson said: "During the offence a live power cable was cut and it is possible that the offenders may have sustained injuries as a result of exposure to the cable.

"South Wales Police would remind members of the public of the dangers associated with interfering with live electricity cables and sub stations."
